Taupo is an awesome place to hang out for a while! There is a great social scene and nightlife (which we prefer you not to get too involved in for the first few days of your course!) and of course there are heaps of adventure activities to do when you're not skydiving! Very conveniently, we also have an alternate skydiving venue which we use from time to time when the weather doesn't play ball here in Taupo. We also can arrange a QUIET backpacker accommodation at a great price- with emphasis being on quiet because the first few days of your course can be quite exhausting- and you really will appreciate your sleep! Daily transport to and from the drop zone is also complimentary, and runs in and out of town every hour.
If you do your research correctly- you will certainly find cheaper options for AFF around New Zealand. For this we make no apology. When learning to skydive, DO NOT make your selection simply based on price, this is just not the kind of activity where price should dictate your selection because you will end up being frustrated, losing interest, and a whole lot more! We are a dedicated full time school, meaning that when you are on the Drop Zone YOU get priority, and access to the finest ‘learning to skydive’ resources in this country!
You can pay per level as you can afford, but it is recommended to complete the first 8 jumps in as little time as possible. Once you allow more than a month to lapse between jumps, you will find yourself having to undertake re-currency training, which although seems inconvenient- is an absolute necessity. There is an enormous volume of information to absorb, and the obvious way to entrench that information is simply by remaining current and in-touch. Once you have done the course, you will fully appreciate this.
